Ingredients:

| Cinnamon | 1 Small Piece | 20 gm |
| Cloves | 6 | 10 gm |
| Fat | 55 gm | 1 kg |
| Onions | 115 gm | 2 Kg |
| Turmeric | A pinch | 10 gm |
| Salt | 10 gm | 100 gm |
Method:
- Wash and soak gram for 1/2 an hour.
- Wash and Soak Rice for 15 mins.
- Heat fat, add sliced Onions, Spices and Rice, dal, salt, turmeric and double the amount of water.
- Stirr and cover the vessel.
- Cook gently till rice is tender, and khitchdi is soft.
- Garnish with chopped corriander leaves as desired.
